Watch this. Right now. It's important.
Sep. 20th, 2007 11:45 amThere are two online stories that moved me to tears in the last hour. For very, very different reasons.
This is the first one. It's raw video footage from a news station, I believe. The mayor of San Diego, a nice white Republican, has decided to support gay marriage (NOT civil unions, marriage) and has given a press conference announcing this. It is extraordinary.

This is number two, via Shakespeare's Sister (as are many of my more interesting news items). There are two parts to it: the gut wrenching bile of the story itself, and then the deadly accurate analysis of the culture that created this man in the first place.

Never forget, my friends. Stand up and fight. Because it truly is up to us. All of us.
